When 'They' Don't Clap for You!
Hey guys! It's time for us to spend some more time together! I am beyond excited, but most of all grateful that you guys are willing to take this journey with me! I just wanted to stop by and briefly share something that has been on my heart since the release of my first blog. Have you ever noticed when a young child is hurt by someone and their parents ask what happened they often times begin the story with "They said...". The next question is almost always, "Who is they?" Well, that's what I want to talk about today. What do you do when 'They' don't clap for you! I've had this burden of starting a blog for about 1-2 years, but I never fully acted on it until recently. I was always too busy with things that didn't matter, like Lil John John down the road lol. However, once I did it felt like the people that I've supported, in more ways than one, did not step up and do the same thing in return. How rude? Right? I was definitely in my feelings about it. My thought process went something like this...DO NOT invite me to your event because I am not coming! DO NOT tag me in nothing else on Facebook because I will ignore it! DO NOT call my phone asking for any type of favor...because...no ma'am/sir I CANNOT assist you! Basically, don't need me for anything because you don't support me so I will not support you and that's what it’s gone be *real hood just like that*. Feel me? You reap what you sow! Right? Wrong! That is not how I was commanded to love people. Jesus checked me real quick and real good! I was wrong...so wrong! He asked me one question that wrecked my entire life. He said, "Did you write the blog so that I can be lifted or so that you can be lifted'? Heart check! I thought the Lord was trying me, but it was true. One fact remained. Who's glory was I writing for? I realized I was angry because people weren't supporting me when the blog, in fact, was never supposed to be about me at all. It was all about Christ and that people could see his glory through me. I immediately had to pray like David, "Let the meditation of my heart be pleasing to you Lord" (Psalms 19). This is why you must guard your heart. Girl, the enemy is sneaky! Don't give him an inch because he will run marathons around you and your faith if you’re not strong. See, I don't want the glory of any man and neither should you. Our sole purpose here is to get others saved through the gifts and talents that Christ has given us. How dare I feel so entitled? Girl, blah! If God be lifted, not Cici, HE (major key) will draw all men (John 12:32). I had it mixed up and I'm glad the Lord humbled me. Sometimes I get out of line too lol. So what 'They' didn't clap. 'They' won't stand before the Lord with me. 'They' won't say well done. 'They' are not the object of my faith. Most importantly, 'They' aint providing for me! My father, Jesus, was pleased! My father read my blog! My father will draw the right persons to my blog who yearn to know him more. I don't need anyone to clap for me. I know who I am! My father already affirmed me! So who are you waiting to affirm you so that you can begin to do the Lord's work? People? Do not hold your breath! People have minds like the wind, they blow every way. Honey, the same people who clap for you will also throw rocks at you as soon as they stop agreeing. Ask Jesus! The same people who wanted him dead cried while he hung on the cross. I'm good on people. We do not beg people to follow us, that is contrary to what Jesus did. His work was the source of his persuasion. Follow his footsteps. Run hard for Christ and him only. Your life depends on it. In the words of Russell Westbrook, "Don't do they, do you". So simple, yet powerful. Don't worry about people, Sis. You let the will of the Lord work through you and work out your purpose! At ThreeSixteen, we honor God, period!!! No excuses, because 'They'(over there hating in the corner) don't want you to win, but you've won already. That's a MAJOR KEY! I, along with the help of DJ Khaled, just gave you the keys to success. 'They' aren't going to clap and 'They' aren’t obligated to, but keep your hands on the plow baby girl! The real tea is that 'They' don’t matter. The only one who does is sitting at the right hand of God interceding for you. Pass the test and show the Lord that you're a soldier and those little things called emotions don’t run you. We exercise self-control! Peace, Cici
